No More Tests!

Ryan doesn't really want me to make another post about him but I am going to do it anyway. Yesterday Ryan took his last test as a medical student. How crazy is that? After almost 4 years of basically living at the hospital and library it is over....for now. We are now officially on spring break! Can you believe that at 30 years old he is still getting a spring break--Crazy right! After he got home from taking his test we were able to go outside and relax. We played on the playground and worked on Jack's soccer skills--it was so much fun. And tomorrow we are off to Utah to look for a house! I can not tell you how excited I am about finally getting a house.! We have signed Jack up to play soccer. He loves to practice with his dad!
Macie loves to be outside---look at that face!

So about Ryan not wanting a post about him that is exactly what I am going to do. He is so amazing! Let me give you a couple of example of how amazing he is. So the other night after dinner and after he got Macie all ready for bed and put her to bed he headed straight for the kitchen and did all of the dishes and clean the kitchen. The amazing thing about this is that he does it often and I don't even need to ask! So not only is he great with doing the dishes but this morning he went and played basketball and lets just say I had a rough morning with the kids and when he got home I needed a break from the kids and was ready to get out of the apartment. No questions were asked he told me to go and take all the time that I needed. So while I was out he fed the kids lunch and put them both down for naps and he did ALL of the laundry! Not only did he wash everything but he had all the clothes folded and put away by the time I got home. He is so amazing! Not only does he do laundry but he also basically packs for me. I hate packing for trips---I never know what to take so he basically takes over and does most of it for me. Anyway I just wanted to gush a little on how much I love Ryan and how much I appreciate all that he does for me and the kids. I love ya babe!

We Are Going Home!

We finally found out where we are going for residency. Today was "Match Day" the day that we have been anxiously waiting for for weeks. The school held a luncheon where all the students found out where they would be going. They had a table with envelopes for each student and at noon there was a rush to the table to find your envelope and find out your fate. We are so excited! Ryan will be doing his family medicine residency at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center! Utah here we come!
Ryan with some of the guys from school. Check out how happy they all are to be moving on. Congrats all of you!

To celebrate we took the kids to Baskin Robbins for some ice cream. I know they don't really understand what is going on but they are always up for some good ice cream.
We are SO excited to be moving back to Utah---we can't wait!

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day will always been a holiday that reminds me of my Dad. He definitely took the wearing green and pinching thing to the extreme. I have memories of making sure that I wore green to bed on the night before St Pat's Day because if I didn't I would be woken up by a pinch from my Dad. Needless to say that the tradition of wearing green will most likely continue on with my own little family. Jack and Macie were both in green pj's and of course were decked out in green during the day. We had a really nice day playing at the park and enjoying the 70 degree weather. A St Patrick's Day tradition that comes from my Mom is every year she would make a delicious shamrock pie--oatmeal and brown sugar crust with a scrumptious lime meringue filling---yummy! Well since getting married I had not attempted to make this on, my own because it seemed a little intimidating; but being in the Irish spirit I decided that this was the year that I was going to make it. So with many phone calls to my Mom before and during making the pie I succeeded in my very first shamrock pie. I am so proud of myself. I am not much of a chef but this week alone I have baked homemade bread and made sausage potato soup and now I can add a wonderful shamrock pie!
Jack enjoying his pie--actually I think he is more of an ice cream guy like Ryan, But oh well more pie for me!

Such a Nice Day!

First of all the weather has taken a turn in a beautiful direction. We were able to go outside and play on the playground today. The kids love to be outside. If it weren't for nap time and the need to eat I think they would spend all day outside. Macie loves the dirt and is not afraid to get dirty unlike Jack who is somewhat of a neat freak. He isn't too much a clean freak he still manages to get plenty dirty. I love this beautiful, sunny weather! In other good news Ryan found out today that he has officially matched with a residency program! Where you may ask----we don't know yet. It's just a relief to know that we have matched! We find out on Thursday where we are going and will let everyone know where we are going then!
A smaller bit of news is that I have cut my hair. It seems that every year around this time I am in need of a new hair style and every year it gets a little shorter. I have a little disclaimer with the pictures---I was on my way out the door to go workout when I had Jack take a few pics of my new do. So first of all it was in the morning after I had slept on it, second I have no makeup on and third I had Jack taking the pictures. Actually Jack did a really good job and I can't really blame the pictures on the photographer this time.

Lazy Blogger

I am not quite sure what is wrong with me. I want to post and have things to post about but for some reason I don't get around to doing it. I don't know if it's because when we went to Utah in October I got out of the habit of posting or what? So...here is a little bit of what we have been up to lately.

We have this list of things that we want to do before we move and one of those things is going to a Cleveland Cav's game to see the one and only Lebron James. On Tues, Feb 24th we were able to check that one off the list. Jack was looking forward to going to watch Lebron James play basketball. It was so cute to see him get so excited to go and watch a basketball game. The game of course was out in Cleveland so we got one of our friends (thanks Dusty!) to watch Macie so we could take Jack to the game. It was so fun to have a night out with Jack and see him get into the game. It was his first real basketball game, unless you count watching Ryan play a city league game. He was clapping along with the different cheers and would get so excited when the crowd got excited. It made for a late night but we all had so much fun! Oh and of course the Cav's won!
So there he is the King himself. Our seats were way up in the nosebleeds but it didn't seem to bother Jack too much.
It is amazing how big Lebron is---Jack only comes up to his knees!!

Jack wants to be like Lebron!

The weather is finally getting better---kind of. We had a couple of days in the 50's which is a very welcomed change. We may have jumped the gun a little but last Friday we headed to the park and it felt SO good to be outside. The kids have been running wild and tearing the house apart. I'm not sure how much more jumping and throwing the cushions around our couch can take. It was so nice to let them run wild outside.
Here are the kids that broke out of their houses and were able to run free for a couple hours.
Macie enjoying the fresh air.
Macie and Jack lounging around on Saturday morning watching some cartoons.

Yesterday our ward had a luau. Yes it is still winter here in Toledo but it really can't hurt to hope for warmer weather, right? Anyway it was a lot of fun. There were games for the kids, big and small and of course good food and friends. The kids had so much fun dressing up and going to a party. Jack loves to party!

I just can't seem to get enough of Jack and Macie. They drive me crazy at times but let me tell you they are SO much fun! Macie continues to surprise me and is learning a new trick every day! She is such a fun, happy little girl. Jack is such a little sweetheart! He loves Macie and loves playing with her. I feel so lucky to have such wonderful, crazy, energetic kids!
So there you go. I finally did it. Hopefully I will get my act together and update this blog a little more often so the posts won't be so long and random.
