Happy Halloween

We have had such a great week of Halloween. The kids absolutely loved getting dressed up in their costumes multiple times. Macie had a hard time deciding between Snow White and Sleeping Beauty(or as Macie calls her Sleeping Julie) but pink always seems to win with this little cutie. As for Jack he opted for a more original costume...a penguin. Where he got the idea and determination to be a penguin I have no idea. I was a little frustrated. I had a family theme picked out and ready to go. Jack would be a football player, Macie a cheerleader and Ryan and I would be referees. Cute right? Wrong! The kiddos had opinions on this one. Finding a penguin costume turned out to be nearly impossible and Jack didn't want to be anything else. What is a mom to do? Make one? Yeah right I don't sew! Luckily I have a good friend who would help me and my mom saved me. With a lot of help and encouragement I actually made Jack a penguin costume. For my first project I think it turned out pretty cute.

My mom had a party on Friday for all the little grandkids with fun games and activities. The kids absolutely love being with their cousins.

Here is a good side shot of Jack as a penguin. The funny thing is that when he walks he kid of waddles and his tail would bounce back and forth. He was the cutest penguin I have ever seen!
Here is the group of grandkids that were able to make it to the party. Everyone was so cute in their costumes! One of my favorite is Laney. She was a cute and cuddly peacock!
Of course the little ones couldn't have all the attention. Lyndsey and Cory had their homemade ninja turtle costumes that were awesome and Mel and Reno were quite the tattooed couple of Jessie James and Kat Von D.

On Saturday came the trick or treating and the rain. Not exactly the night we had planned but the kids had fun and that's really all that counts. Ryan's sister Julie and her family came up for the weekend and we were able to spend some time with them and Jack and Macie were able to play with their cousins that they don't get to see very often.

Even with the rain the kids had a lot of fun and got a lot of candy. After the trick or treating we spent some time with Ryan's family eating some yummy food and watching some good football. Everyone was happy!

It was a long day but everyone had a lot of fun and ended on a good note. Grammie had a treasure hunt and goodie bags and the kids would not leave with out a good Halloween story. We feel so blessed to be close to so much of our family! We had a great Halloween!
