Air Force Museum

Last week we headed down to Dayton to go to the National Air Force Museum. It was so much fun and way better than we expected--plus it was FREE! There were over 400 planes in 4 separate hangars! Some of the planes were so big--I don't know how they get off the ground.

The big highlight was seeing the B-17 bomber just like the one Grandpa Gunn flew in WWII. It was amazing to picture him flying the plane and think about what he went through as he was shot down and taken prisoner in Germany.

They also have the actual plane that dropped the second A-bomb over Japan.

Jack of course was in love with seeing all the planes and helicopters but he really loved sitting in the cockpit of the F16.
We had so much fun and hope that we will be able to go back and visit again.

7 Months

Our little girl is growing up so fast. It is hard to believe that she is already 7 months old. She is doing so many fun things right now and continues to change every day. She is completely mobile now and getting into everything--she finally figured out how to crawl forward which is great because now she doesn't get stuck under the couch anymore. Not only has she figured out how to crawl she is now pulling herself up to stand--she loves standing up!
She can't get enough of Jack. He can make her laugh like nobody else. He is really good with her but he does wish that she was big enough to wrestle. It is fun to watch them play together and develop a relationship.

I Can't Get Enough

I can't tell you how obsessed I am with the Olympics--I can't seem to get enough! Last night I stayed up until 1am watching the men's gymnastics--1am what is wrong with me!?! It was so amazing and exciting to watch. I am amazed at how good all the guys are--not just the USA but China was unreal! I could watch the competition over and over but there are so many other events that are exciting to watch as well. The US swim team is amazing too--not just Michael Phelps but the entire team. I think I could just sit and watch the Olympics all day if I didn't have Jack and Macie begging for my attention. I can't wait for tonight, women's gymnastics and more swimming--you can't get much better than that! I just want to know if anyone else is obsessed with the Olympics--or is it just me?

I'm Trying to be Like Jesus

Jack said the cutest thing today. We have been going through the gospel art picture kit and have been telling Jack some of the stories that go along with the pictures. Some of Jack's favorites are the ones of Jesus healing the blind man (even though Jack is more concerned about where the man's toes are), calming the waves and being baptized.

So today we went to the pool and we were trying to get Jack to float on his back. He really doesn't like having his ears under water but we finally succeeded and as we congratulated him for doing such a good job he hugged Ryan and said, "I did it like Jesus!" We couldn't stop laughing. But on a serious note it's good to know that he already wants to be like Him.
